In this class, you will learn ways to assist your clients who are having, or who have had knee replacement surgery. Topics will include an overview of the knee replacement surgical process, preoperative care, i.e., the important areas to work with the day/night prior to surgery, postoperative care, i.e., the day of surgery and beyond, and complimentary medicine for healing. This class will also include how to work with common postoperative issues such as difficulty with knee flexion and extension, fear/trauma, incision care, swelling, and pain.
We will draw from Phase Four, Phase Five, Phase Six, Isometrics, Chapmans Reflexes and Exploration of Movement approaches.
Instructor Morel Stackhouse brings over 25 years of clinical experience to her clear presentation of the principles and practice of Ortho-Bionomy.
A Registered Advanced Instructor with the Society of Ortho-Bionomy International®, Morel studied personally with Dr. Arthur Lincoln Pauls, D.O., Founder of Ortho-Bionomy. She is approved by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) as a continuing education Approved Provider.
If you are new to Ortho-Bionomy (OB) and want to start taking classes or have a refresher on what you have already learned, Liz Olivas will be teaching Ortho-Bionomy: Phase Four - Focus on the Spine in May 2020. This is a basic class that teaches the fundamentals of OB. There are no pre-requisites and Phase Four is often the class students take to begin their journey into OB as it satisfies the requirement for other OB classes.

This class takes an in-depth look at the core of the human body. You will learn Phase Four techniques that specifically focus on issues at the spine. This will include working on the neck, thoracic spine, ribs, psoas & pelvis.
Learn to observe and recognize subtle changes that signify release of tension patterns and muscular contraction patterns. There is a strong focus placed on the comfort of the person who is on the table as well as the practitioner.
This class fulfills pre-requisites for other Ortho-Bionomy Courses.
